My name is Dan O’Connell. I am an Interaction Design graduate and web enthusiast who loves designing immersive, creative & user-friendly interactions.

I hope to one day conquer the world with an Arduino board, a windmill and a modem, but in the mean time, I’ll stick to front end web design + development.

Euphony

Euphony is a tool designed to facilitate learning difficulties and promote creativity and social interactions.

Euphony creates a dynamic and enjoyable social experience. The objective is to develop a design that will combine both the benefits of music rehabilitation and education, constructing a means to enhance people’s personal and social skills.

Multiple users can interact with the table at once, producing a rich ensemble of diverse and stimulating sounds. LED’s show user feedback across the table, encouraging team work and communication.

Physical buttons were chosen as the user input method due to their satisfying tactile feedback. They are a much more intuitive method of interaction for a wider range of audiences, controlling digital technology with familiar analogue components.

The programming will accommodate specific sets of variables that will change different factors of Euphony including tempo, sound sets and pitches. Every interaction will create a unique experience.
