My name is Dan O’Connell. I am an Interaction Design graduate and web enthusiast who loves designing immersive, creative & user-friendly interactions.
I hope to one day conquer the world with an Arduino board, a windmill and a modem, but in the mean time, I’ll stick to front end web design + development.

New Designers is an annual exhibition that shows off the latest student design work across the UK. We decided to create a unique space that catches the public’s attention and provokes questions.

Ping Pong is a large part of our course’s history, including a room in the University being named ‘Ping Pong’, so we decided to share it by putting a Ping Pong table in the middle of our exhibition space. We branded ourselves by colour. The branding correlated across all media types, including the website which I designed, our costumes on the day, our business cards and the work we presented in the book.
When we got there we did feel a little odd, but the event turned out a success. The Ping Pong table did exactly what we had hoped, and every day of the event we were innundated with questions and interaction with the visitors.
